About Us
Coherent Software Australia Pty Ltd commenced operations in 1989, creating software to help small businesses compete more efficiently. Our first product helped building estimators quickly and easily generate accurate estimates of materials requirements and costs.
Since then we have continued creating and customising software for small to medium business to help them do business more efficiently. We soon discovered that software originally created to help a business become more efficient in one specific area tended, over time, to become a core component of the business. The efficiencies introduced by the software allowed the business to take on significantly more customers with little to no increase in ongoing costs. Many of our clients state they now could not continue to support their current volume of business if the software we created for them ceased to work.
In the early 1990s we became heavily involved with the Internet, and soon developed a high level of knowledge and expertise in the technical aspects of the Internet. Our existing clients had already realised our commitment to doing what we could to help their business, and some began to request our advice on Internet-related projects.
By the mid-1990s we had extensive experience in the different technologies available through the Internet, and with choosing and implementing the right set of technologies to achieve a desired outcome. For example, we created a shopping cart ecommerce system for a major international lingerie company as early as the mid-1990s.
Since the mid-1990s we have helped many of our small and medium sized business clients efficiently adapt to the commercial opportunities offered by the Internet. We have also assisted them to automate many of their business processes, improving their efficiency and hence their competitiveness.
Coherent Software Australia has not limited itself to advising and creating software for small to medium businesses. We are also creators of the popular and powerful DiggerTM searching software used on a range of Family History CD-ROMs. Our staff include Sun Certified Java 2 Programmers, and a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer. Our certified trainers (including a Microsoft Certified Trainer) have been conducting professional programming, software development and internet development courses for several of the better known training organisations in Australia for more than ten years.
