AFHC - Immigration records online

There are indexes to immigration-related records such as passenger lists in many states. It is important for each index that you check exactly what it covers, as the indexes are often patchy (like the original records!). Also the immigration records come in different types (assisted, non-assisted, bounty, foreign, interstate, intrastate, international, ...) and you will probably need to check more than one sort for a given state.

Below are links to immigration related indexes available online, organised according to state. Don't forget to check the states your ancestor may have passed through. More than one immigrant disembarked at first landfall, rather than waiting until they had arrived at their intended destination.

If a state is not listed below it is because we do not know of any immigration-related indexes for that state that are available online.
