WELCOME
Welcome to the first Announcement e-mail from Coherent Software.
This message will be longer than normal, so we can inform you of some
past news items.

If you have any questions about any of our products, please ask us.

EFFECT OF GST
The items we create and sell currently attract little or no Wholesale 
Sales Tax (WST). On July 1, the prices of all products will therefore
rise by close to 10%.


SA DEATHS ON DIGGER(TM)
A new Digger(TM) title is expected to start reproduction within the 
coming couple of weeks. "South Australian Deaths. Registrations 
1841-1915" should be available for purchase early to mid June. It 
contains information from the Death registrations in South Australia 
between 1841 and 1915. It is similar to the earlier CD-ROM 
"South Australian Births. Registrations 1842 to 1906" in that it 
contains extensive information from the original death 
registration entries. 

We will send a short message via this list when we have a certain 
date from which the CD-ROM will be available. If you wish to receive
your copy as soon as possible, order now and we will ship immediately
we have stock.


QLD PIONEERS ON DIGGER(TM)
The "Queensland Pioneers Index 1829-1889" is currently being 
reproduced on CD-ROM. This new Digger(TM) title contains an index
to all registered births, deaths and marriages in Queensland between
1829 and 1889. Information included is similar to the Victorian CD-ROMs.

We do not yet know when this CD-ROM will be available for purchase.
The Queensland Registry must obtain permission from their Minister
before any dates can be decided. We are hoping the CD-ROM will be 
available before the end of June, but at this stage we just don't 
know.

We will send a short message via this list when we have a certain 
date from which the CD-ROM will be available. If you wish to receive
your copy as soon as possible, order now and we will ship immediately
we have stock.


INQUESTS ON DIGGER(TM)
Many of you will know that the Digger(TM) title "Inquest Index.
Victoria 1841-1985" has been 'Coming Soon' for a long time now.
The Inquest records are not straightforward records to deal with,
and it has taken much longer than expected to check and fix 
inconsistencies in the index. 

Finally the data entry and checking have been completed, and the 
CD-ROM preparation has begun. It is still too early to say exactly
when the CD-ROM will be available, but we are hoping for a mid or
late June release. 

As we stated earlier, we will send a short message via this list 
when we have a certain date from which the CD-ROM will be available. 
If you wish to receive your copy as soon as possible, order now and 
we will ship immediately we have stock.


CASHBACK PROMOTION
Melbourne-based people may have heard that the newspaper the Sunday
Herald-Sun and radio station 3AK are involved in a Cashback promotion.
Coherent Software have joined this promotion.

If you purchase anything from us between now and the end of the year,
make sure we stamp your receipt with the Cashback stamp. The stamp 
includes instructions telling you how to register. Each month, 
the receipts registered during the month go into a draw. If your
receipt is drawn, you will receive the amount of your receipt back
in cash or cheque, up to $1000.

above that are not yet available. Remember that these prices will
increase by about 10% on July 1.

updating this section of our web site over the coming weeks, placing
further information about most products, and improving our on-line 
ordering system.
