Latest on The Master Genealogist V5
===================================
We have only a little news regarding the long-awaited version 5 of The
Master Genealogist. The current "best guess" for when it might be
complete is May 2003. It would then have to be reproduced, and shipped
to Australia. If all goes well, TMG 5 might be available within
Australia late June 2003. 

However no one seems to have a lot of confidence in the May date, so
we might have to wait even longer than that. At least it will be a
very well tested and debugged program by the time it ships! 


Digger CDs in Preparation
=========================

Marriage Index. Victoria 1921-1942
----------------------------------
An index to marriages registered in Victoria between 1921 and
1942. Contains over 300,000 marriages (around 800,000 entries). 

Final testing of this title looks positive. We therefore expect the CD
to be available late May or early June 2003. We are happy to accept
pre-orders. Any orders received with payment details before the
release date will be shipped for $204 (no charge for shipping) as soon
as the CD is available. 


Queensland Federation Index 1890-1914
-------------------------------------
Work has commenced on this new index to birth, death and marriage
registrations in Queensland between 1890 and 1914. While a price has
not been set, we expect the CD to be available late June. 


Tasmania Pioneer Index 1803-1900
--------------------------------
Many people have asked us when the old Tasmanian Pioneer data will be
re-released with Digger. Finally we can give an answer: probably
around August 2003. However this will not be exactly the same data
some of you may have used under MS-DOS. This new version will
incorporate many corrections. 


Flikker CDs in Preparation
==========================

Australia. Victoria: Federal Referendum 1899
--------------------------------------------
This is another long-awaited CD-ROM, delayed due to the large quantity
of scanned images. It is finally ready to go into production, and we
expect it to be available sometime during May 2003. We are taking
pre-orders now for $120 (shipping free).  

This will be our sixth Flikker title. We have recently updated our web
site to include screen shots from the Flikker titles, so you have a
chance to see how easy they are to use. Check the screen shots for the
Flikker title of your choice at www.cohsoft.com.au/gene/ . 

Flikker books are similar in concept to the CD Archive Books series
some of you may have seen, but are intended to be higher quality
images with easier to use software. Let us know what you think! 


Genmap UK V2.0
==============
We have finally received stocks of the new version 2 of Genmap
UK. There are many enhancements over the old version, including: 

* export to BMP, GIF, HTML
* include mountains/hills
* freehand lines and arrows
* tool to measure distances
* improved support for larger paper sizes

Other News
==========
Several people have asked about the Early Church Records CD-ROM from
the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Victoria. We are
unable to give any details about this CD-ROM, as we don't really know
much about it! A Digger with Images title takes about four months to
produce, from when we receive the data. As of writing this newsletter,
we have not received any data from the Registry for this title.
