This CD-ROM is not your ordinary BDM index. While at first glance it appears to be standard, with an index to over 6000 births, deaths and marriages on board ships bound for Victoria (the "Marine Registers") searchable using the Digger(TM) software, the CD-ROM actually contains much more.

Each entry in the index is linked to a scanned image of the original entry in the Marine Register. The new Digger(TM) with images software included on the CD will display the appropriate certificate when you click on the desired index entry.

As if that wasn't good enough, some images contain multiple pages. Where the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages had further documentation about an event, that was also scanned and included on the CD-ROM as extra pages "behind" the original registration entry.
