GENEALOGICAL SOFTWARE from COHERENT SOFTWARE AUSTRALIA

The Master Genealogist

The Master Genealogist

The Complete Family History Project Manager

The Master Genealogist Gold Edition for Windows is the Complete Family History Project Manager. Other programs simply store the results of your research, but TMG helps you manage your research, relieving you of many of the tedious aspects of tracing your ancestors.

Gold Edition Only $AU 110.0000

The Master Genealogist (or TMG) v7 is the latest advancement in family history software. Used by novices and professional researchers alike, this new version reinforces TMG's reputation as the most powerful family history project manager on the market while adding many new features to make it easy and fun to use.

Whether you are a weekend hobbyist or a professional researcher, TMG comes with everything you need to:

  • manage volumes of research data, photos, and sources.
  • organize a research trip, including "To Do" lists, reference material, charts, and forms.
  • track your correspondence and expenses.
  • be the hit of a family reunion!
  • ... or publish a book, complete with table of contents, footnotes, multiple indexes, and bibliography!

The Master Genealogist is limited only by your imagination. There's no limit to the number of :

  • photographs
  • sources
  • citations
  • repositories
  • independent projects
  • people
  • events per person
  • names per person
  • relationships
  • user-defined events
  • user-defined flags

And most data-entry fields are of unlimited length - so there's no need for awkward abbreviations.

Bring Your Data With You

When you upgrade to TMG, you can import your data directly (i.e., without GEDCOM) from a long list of other genealogy programs using the built-in GenBridge(tm) technology. TMG v6 adds support for many of the most common programs on the market.

While TMG will also import data through GEDCOM v4.0 or v5.5, the direct import process usually produces much more complete and accurate results and is strongly recommended.

The following formats and versions are supported directly (i.e., without GEDCOM) in TMG:

Step Up to Professional Tools

TMG was designed by experienced genealogists who understand and prepare you for common research problems, including:

  • conflicting data
  • uncertain dates
  • adoptions
  • unwed parents
  • "Old Style" dates
  • disproven data
  • contradictory sources
  • spelling changes
  • multiple lines of descent
  • extra-long place names
  • missing data
  • sensitive data

Special features not found in traditional genealogy software make it easy to:

  • pursue theories
  • establish parent or child candidates
  • record any type of event (including LDS events)
  • record all of the evidence, not just your conclusions
  • integrate historical timelines
  • trace medical conditions
  • document witnesses and other non-primary roles
  • search for Soundex or true phonetic matches
  • search by married name or spelling changes
  • conduct Boolean (and/or) searches

Easy for the Beginner to Use

The novice researcher can be productive within minutes. More powerful features and hot keys are gradually revealed as the user gains more experience.

Beginner and Advanced data entry modes let you match the interface to your experience. New wizards take you step-by-step through the more detailed procedures. "Tips and Hints" and "Cue Cards" introduce you to new features along the way. Data entry is made easy with repeat keys, macros, lookup tables, and other shortcuts. TMG's interface is designed to stay out of your way so you can concentrate on research.

TMG includes a Users Guide and an detailed context-sensitive help file. For those who are more comfortable learning through demonstration, self-paced video training tapes are also available.

Have It Your Way

While TMG comes ready to print dozens of predefined reports with no hassle, its powerful report writer includes the ability to define your own. With access to hundreds of options, powerful filtering tools, and font control, you are in control and your reports are truly one-of-a-kind! And when you save your creation by name, you can generate the same report again later in one easy step.

TMG puts an end to monotonous automated "narratives." The Master Genealogist puts creativity into your hands by giving you control of every sentence in every paragraph. By honoring your preference globally or locally, TMG's narrative reports actually reflect your writing style.

Unbeatable Reports

The Master Genealogist produces dozens of narrative reports, charts and forms designed for research, correspondence, and publication, including many varieties of:

  • Family Group Sheets
  • Pedigrees
  • Ahnentafels
  • Customized lists
  • Individual reports
  • Descendancy reports
  • Ancestral reports
  • Statistical distributions
  • Register reports
  • Modified Register reports

TMG now includes an integrated copy of Visual Chartform, a powerful new charting tool which produces:

  • Descendant Box Charts
  • Ancestor Box Charts (Gold Edition only)
  • Fan Charts (Gold Edition only)
  • Hourglass Charts (Gold Edition only)

TMG Gold Edition Knows Word Processors

The Master Genealogist can export most reports in Rich Text Format (RTF), Adobe Acrobat™ (PDF), and ASCII text.

But that's just the beginning. TMG Gold Edition can speak directly to more than 50 word processor formats, including Word and WordPerfect, by producing reports in their native file formats. (Silver Edition supports RTF, ASCII, and PDF only).

Because TMG Gold Edition uses the native features of your word processor (not an intermediate file format), it seamlessly supports headers/footers, endnotes and footnotes, multiple indexes, table of contents, superscript/subscript, master documents, and much more!

Professionals agree - the value of your research is reflected in your sources. And nothing beats TMG's support for source citations!
